Timothy Cline, CIRMS, is considered one of the leading authorities on insurance for common interest developments. He is President of the Timothy Cline Insurance Agency, Inc. in Santa Monica, California, where he and his staff specialize exclusively in coverage for common interest developments and commercial properties in California, Oregon, Washington and Arizona.
Mr. Cline is one of an elite group of community association insurance and risk management professionals who have earned the Community Insurance and Risk Management Specialist (CIRMS) designation from the Community Association Institute (CAI).
In addition to speaking weekly before homeowners groups, Mr. Cline is a regularly featured speaker at education seminars and programs throughout California including numerous programs sponsored by Community Association Institute (CAI). He is part of the teaching faculty of the California Association of Community Managers (CACM). Three times in the last five years he has spoken before the California Common Realty Conference of CPA's on the topic of "Homeowners Associations and Natural Disasters." He has been an invited speaker at several CAI National Conferences including Orlando, Denver, Atlanta, Anaheim, Nashville, Palm Springs and, Tucson. Mr. Cline has also been quoted in articles regarding condominium associations published in the "Los Angeles Times," "The Daily News", "Investors Journal" and the "Wall Street Journal."
Tim Cline is President of the Channel Islands Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) and was President of the Los Angeles Chapter of Insurance Brokers Association of the West (IBA West) through February 2008. He serves on the Editorial Committee for California Association of Community Managers (CACM). He served as President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) in the year 2000. Mr. Cline chaired CAI National’s Insurance & Risk Management Professionals Networking Committee in 2002 and 2003. He is also the recipient of a number of Awards from CAI. This past year has been especially successful having been named “Speaker of the Year (2007)” by the Greater Los Angeles chapter of CAI, the “William S. Dunlevy – Author of the Year (2007)” by The Channel Islands Chapter and “Speaker of the Year (2007)” by the Orange County Chapter of CAI. In the past Tim has also been awarded Orange County Chapter’s 2005 “Author of the Year” Award,” the Greater Los Angeles Chapter’s 2001 and 2006 “President’s Award” , 2000 “Member of the Year” Award, 1999 “Member of the Year” Award, 1999 “Chapter Board Member of the Year” Award, 1994 “Speaker of the Year” Award, 1993 “Hall of Merit” Award, the 1992 “Outstanding Service Award”, 1991 “Outstanding Service Award” and 1991 “President's Award.” Mr. Cline also was awarded “Speaker of the Year” for 2001, 2002, and 2005 from Channel Islands Chapter of CAI.
