Checklist for Obtaining a Quote
When obtaining a quote, it is very important to disclose as much information
as possible. The more information the broker is provided with, the better tailored
they can market the account and find the best insurance for that particular association’s
needs.
In addition, the underwriters for the carriers look for the following:
- Information on updates within the last ten to fifteen years for Plumbing, Heating, Roofing, Wiring
- A three to five year loss history for the Association.
- Explanation of all loses and what has been done to prevent further losses.
- Schedule of buildings by address
- Map/Plot Plan of Association
- Year Built
- Insurance portion of CC&Rs
- Type of parking
- Construction type
- Information on all auxiliary structures (Pools, Spas, Tennis Courts, Clubhouses, et al)
